Well, another day down. A good day and a sad day. Colby spent most of the day with us. It was wonderful. The grandparents got to hold him along with several of his Aunts and cousins and some good friends.
On the flip side, we were told today that Colby would not be going home with us tomorrow. He will not be released until Wednesday at the earliest. His blood sugars have stabilized on 22 cal formula. However, they want him to be able to hold his sugars on a 20 cal formula.
The hospital has been great. Margaret will be discharged tomorrow and they will let us stay in our room until 11PM tomorrow night.

Sounds like your time together yesterday was wonderful. I understand your emotions about leaving without Colby. I was sent home a week before Carolyn was released. Granddaddy Walsh drove me to the hospital about every 3 hours so I could be with her and feed her. I was determined no one else would feed her. Dan and I were set to leave without Rob as he, like Carolyn, was 3 weeks early and jaundiced. We were actually leaving our room when they came in and told us he would be going home with us. Our insurance company approved us having the bili-lights set up in our home. Rob was one of the first babies to do that according to the hospital. Em, also 3 weeks early, was my biggest. She weighed 7 whole pounds. We were able to take her with us when we left. It does sound like the hospital is very understanding and compassionate. It is fantastic that they will let you stay in your room until 11PM! Then you can go home, get some rest, and get all ready to bring your little boy home. How exciting! I am really enjoying the blog and the photos. Thanks for making the effort. It allows us all to stay connected and be a part of what is going on. You have my ongoing love and prayers--Rita

Hi Scott-
Not sure if you remember me, but I went to PGHS. My daughter Ansley went through this same thing and although it is sad to leave them, its best that they get that special care. My family will be praying for you and little Colby. What a handsome fella he already is! He must take after his Mama! Take care. I am going to add you to my blog list if that is ok.
